Adelaide E (Winters) Hansen

Adelaide E. “Addie” Hansen, 87, of Mosinee, WI (Formerly of Iron Mountain and Foster City, MI), went to be with her Lord and Savior on June 25, 2019 at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Marshfield, WI, following a brief illness. Her beloved family was at her side.
Addie was born October 27, 1931, in Carlshend, MI, daughter of the late Neil and Beatrice (Brown) Winters.
Addie grew up in Carlshend, MI, and graduated from Marquette High School, Class of 1949. She married Raymond Hansen in Marquette, MI on October 13, 1951. After marriage they enjoyed four years together while Ray served in the United States Air Force stateside during the Korean War.
Addie was an amazing homemaker who took great pride in providing for so many. She helped raise numerous children in her home, providing a nurturing atmosphere for many families.
Ray and Addie raised five wonderful children; Daniel (Peggy) Hansen, Coleman, WI, Julie (Mark) Osterberg, Tucson, AZ, Kathryn (Robert) Carlson, Canandaigua, NY, David (Laurie) Hansen, Stevens Point, WI, and Peter (Erin) Hansen, Mosinee, WI.
They delighted in their sixteen grandchildren; Amy (Kevin) Dugan, Jane (Matt) Schultz, Kate (Mark) Gross, Britt (Christian) Felix, David Osterberg, Kirsten (Robert) Hasler, Kristina (Matt) Harter, Kara (Mark) Anderson, Gabriel (Luba) Carlson, Zachary, Daniel and Grace Carlson, Jana (Nathan) Brown, Tyler (Fiancé Emily Lund) Hansen, and Noah and Lily Hansen. They were blessed with nineteen great grandchildren; Hannah, Collin and Ava Dugan, Isaac, Eli and Emmett Schultz, Adam and Leo Gross, Shea, Paige, Lauren and Grant Felix, James Hasler, Arabella and Everett Harter, June, Faye, and Charlie Anderson, and Henry Brown. Two additional great grandchildren are expected later this year.
Addie’s faith in God was what defined her life. She was a member of First Covenant Church, Iron Mountain serving as a Sunday School teacher, choir member and senior high league leader. Upon moving to the Hansen family farm in Foster City following their retirement, she found great fellowship in attending Mission Covenant Church for ten years. She was a faithful attendee of Good News Church in Mosinee over the last four years.
Addie is survived by her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She also leaves two sisters-in-law; Dorothy (Raymond) Edlund, and Carolyn (Elwood) Anderson all of the Iron Mountain area. There are numerous nieces, nephews and cousins who will miss her as well.
In addition to her parents, Adelaide was preceded in death by her husband Ray, and siblings Malcolm, Sadie, Phoebe, Jean and Allan, aunts, uncles, and several very special sisters and brothers-in-law as well as dear friends of many years.
Visitation will be Friday, July 12, 2019, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at First Covenant Church, 125 East “H” Street, Iron Mountain. The Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. at the church. Pastors David and Tyler Hansen will officiate. Burial will be in Foster City at 4:00 p.m.
