Albert Victor Nopola

Albert V. Nopola, age 70 of Covington passed away on Tuesday, July 06, 2004 at Baraga County Memorial Hospital.
He was born December 24, 1933 in Covington, MI son of the late Toivo and Sylvia (Sikkila) Nopola. Albert was in the US Army during the Korean conflict. He worked for Interlake Steamship for 32 years, retiring in 1989. Albert was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Covington and President of the Lions Club. He loved fishing, walking, and telling tales of the Great Lakes.
Surviving are his brother Gerald (Linnea) Nopola of Covington; sisters, Shirley Latondress of Waukegan, IL, Elizabeth (William) Turner of L'Anse, Marie (Nate) Leaf of Gore, Oklahoma, Diane Anderson of Covington; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, July 9 at 11:00 am at Trinity Lutheran Church in Covington. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Rev. Timothy Ott will officiate. The Jacobson Funeral Home in L'Anse is assisting the family.
