Alice Laverne (Peymbroeck) Clishe
October 30, 1952 — January 20, 2018
Alice L Clishe, age 65 of Skanee, MI passed away on Saturday, January 20, 2018 at Houghton County Medical Care Facility.
She was born October 30, 1952 in Pensacola, FL daughter of Arthur and Gloria (Manners) Peymbroeck. As a daughter of a Navy Seabee, Alice lived in various places including Alabama, Italy, Florida, California, Washington, Hawaii, Mississippi, and Michigan. In 1969 they moved to Lake Linden, MI. On December 18, 1971 she married Daniel Clishe in Laurium, MI and they resided in L’Anse until 1980 when they moved to Skanee. She attended Suomi College for 2 years. Alice worked as a CNA at Bayside Village, then at the Huron Trading Post for 2 years, and she and Dan owned Studio 1 DJ service.
Alice was a member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Baraga and was formerly on the church council for Holy Cross and Zion Lutheran Church in Skanee and was active in their Sunday School programs. She was active in the Arvon Elementary School Booster Club, and was a leader of a 4-H Club. Alice loved music and animals. She had a Hobby Farm with horses, donkey, ducks, and chickens. Alice and Dan loved traveling in their motor home.
Surviving are her husband Dan of Skanee; daughters, Danielle Clishe of Baraga, Jamie Clishe of Minneapolis; brother Nelson (Linnea) Peymbroeck of Holt, MI; sister Cindy (Brian) Jasberg of Peoria, IL; grandchildren, Felicity, Brittany, Tobie Lias of Philadelphia, PA; numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death are her parents; infant son Joseph Daniel Clishe; and grandson Christopher Clishe.
Visitation was on Wednesday, January 24th from 11-1:00 p.m. at Jacobson Funeral Home. The funeral service was at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Julie Belew officiating. Burial will be on Monday, June 4th at 3 pm in the Skanee Cemetery.
