Alice F. Roland

Alice F. Roland, 80, of L'Anse, died Monday morning, August 28, 2006, at Bayside Village in L'Anse.
She was born December 19, 1925, in Iron Mountain, Michigan, a daughter of the late Blasius and Mary (Warmuth) Mortl. Alice was raised in Iron Mountain and was an Iron Mountain High School graduate.
She relocated to the Skanee area with her husband, John L. Erickson following their marriage and had resided there since.
She is survived by a daughter, Dianne (David) Haapala of Aura, MI; step-daughters, Pat (Bruce) Frisch of California and Chris (Bob) Dutzi of Chicago, IL; 9 grandchildren, Denise (Steve "Buck") Larson, Dennis Nelson, Debra (John) Robillard, Michael (Sarah) Karvakko, Jessica (Doug) Kehus, Stacey Erickson-Karvakko, Joe & Scott Erickson and Beverly Erickson; numerous great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandson; siblings, Helen Kassin of Iron Mountain, Robert Mortl of Sturtevant, WI, John Mortl of California and Joe Mortl of Wisconsin; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, John L. Erickson in 1976 and James "Bud" Roland in 2003; sons, Michael Erickson on January 1, 2006 and John Erickson on January 4, 2006; 5 siblings; and a step-daughter, Michelle Brophy.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, August 31, 2006 at 1 p.m. in the Jacobson Funeral Home with Pastor Judy Mattson officiating. Visitation will be held for one hour prior to the service in the funeral home. Interment will be in the Skanee Cemetery at a later date.
