Alma Anderson
May 29, 1915 — December 10, 2003
Alma I. "Eileen" Anderson, age 88 of Baraga passed away on Wednesday, Dec. 10, at Baraga County Memorial Hospital.
She was born May 29, 1915 in Canada, daughter of the late John Isaac and Alma Marie (Carlsson-Riddar) Prost. Alma grew up in Baraga, and was married to Hilmer Joranstad prior to marrying Hugo Anderson. She was a member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Baraga.
Alma is survived by her son Harold (Betty) Joranstad of West Bloomfield; one brother Leonard (Vivian) Prost of Baraga; one sister Frances Van Abel of Marquette; four grandchildren, Eric Joranstad, Kristin Miller, Kaarin Kleimola, Ardith Outland; and 12 great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband Hugo, five brothers, Ralph, Theodore, Leander, Harvey and Johnnes Prost; two sisters Ina Rickard and Ellen Wilford.
The funeral service will be held on Saturday, Dec. 13 at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Cross Lutheran Church. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Pastor Judy Mattson will officiate. Burial will take place in the spring in Baraga Cemetery. The Jacobson Funeral Home in L'Anse is assisting the family.
