Anna Jean Davis, age 85 of Aura, MI passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Thursday, January 31, 2013 at Bayside Village in L'Anse.
She was born on August 21, 1927 in Chicago Heights, IL to Bert and Arlene (Freeland) Krogh. Anna grew up in Chicago Heights, IL and graduated from Thorton High School in Harvey, IL. She married Wallace F. Davis on June 28, 1947 in Harvey, IL. Anna was a supportive wife and a wonderful mother. She was a co-owner of Wally's Supermarkets in IL as well as Range Finer Foods in South Range, MI.
Anna was a member of Fountain of Life Lutheran Church in Sun City, AZ and United Lutheran Church in L'Anse. She was a past PTA President in IL, member of the Aura Fire Hall Auxiliary and the Aura Hospital Auxiliary.
Surviving are her children, Dixie (Dann) Cooper of Bloomington, IN, Lynn (William) Neal of Orwell, OH, Chris Davis of South Range, MI, Mary (Mark) Klepac of Arden, NC, Ruth (Bob) Maki of Sun City, AZ and Aura, MI, John Davis of Phoenix, AZ; 11 grandchildren, Deb (Zac) Ewin, David Brewster, Joe Neal, Isaac Klepac, Joel (Monica) Klepac, Johanna (Mike) Owens, Rebecca (John) Gilliam, Sam Klepac, and Mark Klepac, Matthew Maki, and Andrew Maki; 14 great grandchildren, Zachary, Richard, Daytona, Danielle, Alyssa, Judah, Elijah, Samuel, Aliyah, Ariel, Simeon, Abram, Grace, and Faith; 1 great great grandchild, Kayden.
Preceding her in death are her parents; husband Wallace Davis; and a brother Robert Krogh.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, February 4th at 12:00 p.m. at the Jacobson Funeral Home with Rev. Greg Mileski officiating. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. A luncheon and fellowship will follow in the Sharing Room at the funeral home and will be hosted by the Aura Fire Hall Auxiliary. Burial will be in the Aura Cemetery in the spring.
