Anna Mae Marcotte, age 86 of Skanee passed away on Sunday, March 13, 2005 at her home.
She was born October 15, 1918 in Kuttawa, Kentucky, a daughter of the late Frank and Anna Grace (Young) Satterfield. Anna grew up in Kentucky. She married Melvin "Buck" Marcotte in 1936. The couple owned the Indian Creek Garage in Half Day, IL for many years. In 1990 she moved to Skanee were she has been residing.
Anna was a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, Skanee Fire Dept. Auxiliary, Baragaland Senior Citizens, and the Happy 12 Pinochle Club. She enjoyed knitting and playing cards.
Surviving are her children, Albert (Cecelia) Marcotte and Linda Moran of Skanee; 7 grandchildren, Deborah (Robert) McVay of Pittsburg, PA, Laura (Joseph) Gannon of Beach Park, IL, Ann Marie (Jon) Foucault of Albertville, MN, Suzette (Patrick) Reilley of L'Anse, A.J. (Tracy) Marcotte of Fredericksburg, VA, Bucky (Cassie) Marcotte of L'Anse and Tiger Marcotte of L'Anse; 10 great-grandchildren; brothers, Hal (Joan) Satterfield and Gerald Satterfield of Waukegan, IL; 6 sisters, Ellois (Wallace) Paquette of Skanee, Pauline Goetz of Bradenton, FL, Bonnie Jean Niemi of Gurnee, IL, Donna Volpe of Lake Forest, IL, Edna Joyce (David) Dever of Waukegan, IL, Betty (Jack) Anderson of Gurnee, IL.
Preceding her in death are her husband Buck in 1979, and seven bothers and sisters.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, March 16, 2005 at 11 a.m. at Sacred Heart of Jesus Church in L'Anse with Rev. Chacko officiating. Friends may call at the church for one hour prior to the mass. Burial will be held in the spring in the Skanee Cemetery. The Jacobson Funeral Home is assisting the family.
