Anna M. Mytty

Anna May Mytty, age 81 of Aura passed away peacefully on Sunday, Nov. 9, 2003 at Baraga County Memorial Hospital.

She was the daughter of Arthur and Ellen (McBrien) Kotter in Shelton, CT on July 4, 1922. Anna married Charles Monson and they moved to L'Anse. She later married Ernest Mytty on July 17, 1954. Anna worked at the Nite Owl for years. She was an active bowler when she was younger, and loved to play pinochle with her happy twelve club and getting out to the casino. Anna enjoyed making a great many handicrafts. She especially enjoyed her grandsons and great grandchildren. Anna also wrote the Aura and Skanee news for more than 20 years fo the L'Anse Sentinel. Anna was a great cook and always enjoyed Christmas time for giving cookies to everyone.

Anna was a member of the Aura Lutheran Church, VFW Auxiliary Post 3897, Baragaland Senior Citizens, Aura Fire Dept. Auxiliary, and the Aura Hospital Auxiliary.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Ellen Kotter; her husband Ernest, who passed away on October 10 of this year; three sisters Alice Nebnesey, Dolores Ferla and Mable DelVecchio all of Seymour, CT.

She is survived by one daughter Ellen Heikkinen of L'Anse; four grandsons, Scott and Jackie and their children Brittney, Samantha, and Jordon of Marquette, Jason and Lori and their children Dillion and Halley of L'Anse, Corey and Louise and their children Marie and Roger of L'Anse, and Joel Heikkinen of L'Anse; one sister Rose Marie and Mike Nickle; numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 12 from 10-11:00 a.m. at Jacobson Funeral Home. The VFW Axiliary will conduct a service at 10:45 a.m.. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Rev. Jim Mathews will officiate. Burial will be in the Aura Cemetery. The luncheon and fellowship will follow at the Aura Fire Hall. The Jacobson Funeral Home in L'Anse is assisting the family.
