Arthur Alfred Stenson

Arthur A. Stenson, age 57 of Trout Creek, MI passed away on Tuesday, September 13, 2005 at his home with his family by his side.
He was born December 23, 1947 in Ishpeming, MI son of Conrad and Margaret (Haarstad) Stenson. Arthur grew up in Covington and graduated from L'Anse High School in 1966. He was in the US Army during Vietnam from 1967-69. Arthur married the former Patricia Madden on November 8, 1969 in Trout Creek.
Arthur worked as a miner at White Pine Copper Mine until 1997; then he was employed at Lac Vieux Desert Casino until 2004. He enjoyed bowling over the years, and was a die-hard Lion fan. He will be remembered for his unique sense of humor. He went to Washington DC on Capital Hill to try to put into law a bill known as "Artie's Law" which would separate terminally ill from disabled when qualifying for SSI benefits. Arthur was a member of the American Legion Post in Trout Creek.
Surviving are his wife Patty of Trout Creek; mother Margaret Stenson of Covington; children Amanda (Daryl) Johnson of Kenton and Shannon Stenson of Grand Rapids and his grandchildren Ariel and Dillon; his siblings, Conrad (Jeanie) Stenson of Trout Creek, Ruthy (Tom) Brown of L'Anse, Fred Stenson of Covington, Stanley (Ange) Stenson of Covington, Margie (Edgar) Aguilar of California, Cindy (Ron) Kantola of Chassell, Thor Stenson of Marquette, Holly Stenson of California; numerous nieces and nephews; his dog Sass, Cat Ming, and grand dog Cocoa.
Preceding him in death are his father Conrad; brother Teddy Stenson; and sister Rebecca Stenson.
A memorial luncheon will be held on Friday, September 16th at 3:00 pm Eastern at the Lac Vieux Desert Bingo Hall.
