Aurelia Inez Mitchell, age 82 of Baraga, MI passed away on Tuesday, March 1, 2011 at Houston Hospice in Houston, Texas.
Aurelia was born January 14, 1929 in L'Anse, MI the daughter of the late George and Rose (DeComier) St. Onge. She graduated from L'Anse High School. Aurelia married Harold Mitchell at Sacred Heart Church in L'Anse on April 23, 1949.
Preceding her in death are her husband Harold on August 4, 2009; son Paul Mitchell on June 6, 2009; two great grandchildren, Michael and Jake, who passed on September 7, 2010; and brothers, Eddie, Ray, Leonard, and Willard St. Onge.
Surviving are her sons, Allan (Marilyn), Ronald, and Mike Mitchell all of Baraga; daughters, Joan (Tom) Miller of Sugarland, TX, Gail (Harold) Herrala of Baraga; 14 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; and a baby due May 9th; sisters, Pat Ziehr of Redford, MI, Rosemary St. Onge of Tustin, CA; brothers, Donald (Helen) St. Onge of Dearborn, MI, Robert St. Onge of Detroit, MI; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial mass will be held on Monday, April 18th at 11:00 a.m. at St. Ann's Catholic Church in Baraga. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Fr. Brian Gerber will officiate. A luncheon and fellowship will follow the service in the church hall. The Jacobson Funeral Home is assisting the family.
