Barbara Jean (Clark) Augustine

Barbara Jean Augustine, age 92, of L'Anse, MI passed away on Sunday, July 10, 2022 at Bayside Village in L'Anse, MI.

She was born July 13, 1929 in Novi, MI daughter of Harry and Grace (Bowers) Clark. Barbara graduated from Evart High School in 1947. After high school she worked for Michigan Seamless Tube. She married Joseph Henry Augustine on December 5, 1959 in Wixom, MI. They resided in South Lyon, MI, where she was active teaching Sunday School, was the church accountant, and a den mother for Cub Scouts. In 1990, upon retirement Barbara and her husband moved to L'Anse, MI. Barbara was a member of the L'Anse United Methodist Church. She enjoyed cooking and was known for her pies. She also enjoyed gardening, reading, crosswords, and especially spending time with her family.

Surviving are her son Henry (Laura) Augustine of L'Anse; grandchildren Joseph and Rebecca; and brother Norman (Mary) Clark of Howell, MI.

Preceding her in death are her parents; husband Joseph; and 6 siblings.

A graveside service will be held on Monday, August 15th at 11:00 a.m. at the L'Anse Evergreen Cemetery with Rev. John Henry officiating. Memorials may be made to the L'Anse United Methodist Church Memorial Fund. Jacobson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
