Barbara Theresa Fish

Barbara Theresa Fish, age 87 of Baraga, Michigan passed away on Wednesday, March 19th, 2025 at Baraga County Memorial Hospital.

She was born January 15, 1938 in Allouez, MI daughter of Joseph and Florence Mahr. Barbara graduated from Calumet High School. She worked at Northwestern Mutual Insurance in Milwaukee, WI where she met her husband Donald Fish; they wed on February 11, 1961 in Ahmeek, MI. They moved to Baraga where they raised their family. Barbara worked in Housekeeping at Winkler's Nursing Home for over 20 years.

Barbara was an active member of St. Ann Catholic Church in Baraga, volunteering with the ladies guild for various functions and hosting funeral luncheons. She also volunteered at 4-H, and enjoyed sewing and knitting.

Surviving are her sons, Steve (Diane) Fish of Kronnenwetter, WI, Scott (linda) Fish of Franklin, TN, Joseph (Beth) Fish of Baraga; grandchildren, Steven, Peter, Jordan, Jessi, Julie (Quinton) Dormandy, Breanne, Mariah, Morgan, Joseph; great grandchildren, Ryan, Lincoln, Manhatten, Rylan, Bentley, Reign, Neveah; special friends, Darlene Hansen and Sharon Putula; numerous nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death are her parents, Joseph and Florence; husband Donald; brothers Freddie and Joe Mahr.

Visitation will be on Friday, April 4th from 10-11:00 a.m. at St Ann Catholic Church. Her funeral mass will be at 11:00 a.m. with Fr. Corey Litzner officiating. A luncheon will follow in the church hall. Burial will be in the L'Anse Evergreen Cemetery. Jacobson Funeral Home is assisting the family.
