Beth Elaine (Warner) Rice

Beth Elaine Rice, age 90, of L'Anse Michigan passed away on Thursday February 15, 2018 at Alpha Senior Concepts in Suamico, Wisconsin surrounded by her loving family.

She was born on July 22, 1927 in Gaylord, Michigan, daughter to Ira and Ella Warner. Elaine married Howard Rice on May 27, 1950 in Roscommon, Michigan. She worked for the State of Michigan, Department of Conservation and a refinery in Roscommon in her younger years and then took time off from work to raise her children. When she moved to L'Anse in 1966 she went back to work at the C.J. Sullivan Elementary School as a secretary. In 1975 she went back to working for the State of Michigan, Department of Social Services as secretary and then onto being an AP Worker, retiring from state service in 1987.

Surviving are her son Dean (Sonia) Rice of South Range, Wisconsin and daughter Denise (Jerry) Cole of Munising, Michigan. Grandchildren: Tonja (Adam) Larson of Stratford, Wisconsin, Ryan (Jenny) Rice of South Range Wisconsin, and John (Erin) Rice of Marquette, Michigan. Great grandchildren, Keagan Rice, Brayden Rice, Carson Rice, Mischa Larson, and Allie Larson.

Preceding in death by her parents; husband Howard; and son Lee Rice.

Visitation will be on Monday, February 19th from 11-12 p.m. at Jacobson Funeral Home. Her funeral service will be held at 12 p.m. at Jacobson Funeral Home with Rev. Steve Rhoades officiating. Luncheon and fellowship will follow at the L’Anse United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall. Burial will be on Tuesday, May 29th at 1:00 p.m. in the L’Anse Evergreen Cemetery. The Jacobson Funeral Home is assisting the family.
