Brian E. Lahti, age 54, of St. Paul, Minnesota, formerly of Covington, passed away on Friday, April 20, 2001 at his home.

He was born on January 13, 1947, in Ishpeming, Michigan son of the late Eli Lahti and Sadie (Tarvainen) Rosten. Brian grew up in Covington and Ely Township. He was married to the former Jean (Wadaga) Rowell, who resides in Jayess, Mississippi. Brian was in the US army stationed in Korea, and is a member of the VFW Post 8945 in Covington. He has been living in St. Paul for the past 20 years. He retired five years ago from the Soo Line Rail Road.

Brian is survived by his daughter Julie Lahti of Marquette, step father Bernhardt "Ben" Rosten of Champion, girlfriend Joyce Atchison of St. Paul, brothers Greg Rosten of Negaunee, Jerome (Kathy) Rosten of Minneapolis, Tyrone (Teresa) Rosten of Champion, Brent (Mary) Rosten of Negaunee, sisters Cindy Tuominen of Blaine, MN, Regina (Jeff) Kyllonen of Champion, Colleen(Christopher) Filizetti of Negaunee, Pamela Savu of Marquette, Melanie (Dean) Salmonson of New Ipswich, New Hampshire, Brenda Jandreau of Ishpeming, and two grandsons Kyle and Alex Lahti, several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be held on Sunday, April 22, at the Apostolic Lutheran Church in Watton at 2:00 p.m., Dan Hintsala will officiate. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service at the church. Burial will be in the Covington Cemetery, and the VFW will conduct military grave side services.
