Charlotte Edna Sattler-Pullin

Charlotte Edna Sattler-Pullin, 92, of Skanee, Michigan, died peacefully at her home, Friday afternoon, August 12, 2005, following a lengthy illness.

She was born July 13, 1913, in Chicago, Illinois, a daughter of the late George B. and Charlotte (Theel) Niemeyer. Charlotte was a 1932 graduate of Central High School in Kalamazoo, Michigan and a 1935 graduate of the Kalamazoo State Hospital Nurse Training School.

Charlotte was a WWII veteran, having served in the Army Nurse Corps. Her service took her to the EAME Theater, which included Tunisia, Sicily, Normandy, Northern France, Ardennes, Germany and Central Europe. She attained the rank of Major and received the Bronze Star for meritorious service.

Charlotte worked for several years as an administrator in the Kalamazoo State Hospital and administrator at Winkler's Nursing Home prior to retirement.

She is survived by a step-son, Oral "Jake" (Pat) Pullin of Kalamazoo; step-daughter-in-law, Barbara Sattler of Grand Rapids; "extended family", Ron, Marie, Brian, Stacey, Brad, Chelsea and Nathan Stiebe; and numerous step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband's, Fred Sattler in March 19, 1978 and Oral Pullin on December 26, 1988; step-son, Dick Sattler; and a brother, Harold.

A graveside service will be held on Monday, August 15, 2005 at 2 p.m. in the L'Anse Evergreen Cemetery with Rev. John Henry officiating. The Baraga County Area Veterans will also conduct military rites.
