Clifford William Nankervis Sr.

Clifford William Nankervis, 83, of Skanee, Michigan, passed away peacefully at his home on Thursday, March 27, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.

Born on February 13, 1942, in L'Anse, Michigan, Clifford was the son of William and Gertrude (Toyras) Nankervis. He graduated from L'Anse High School in 1959 and married the love of his life, Dorothy LeRue, on January 6, 1962, at Sacred Heart of Jesus Church in L'Anse.

A hardworking and entrepreneurial man, Clifford owned and operated the Timbers Bar in Huron Bay for 15 years before selling it in 1987. He dedicated himself to a career as a self-employed logger, a profession he took great pride in until his retirement in 2007.

Clifford had a deep appreciation for craftsmanship and nature. He found joy in woodworking, creating beautiful bowls and furniture, tending to his garden, and spending time fishing.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 63 years, Dorothy; his son, Clifford (Pamela) Nankervis Jr. of Huron Bay; and his cherished grandchildren, Abbey and Trevor Nankervis. He is also survived by his brother, James Nankervis of Ishpeming; and sisters, Jane Elmblad of L'Anse and Rita Erickson of Skanee.

Clifford was preceded in death by his parents, William and Gertrude; his daughter, Deborah Nankervis; and his brother, Philip Nankervis.

His memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him; his family and friends that spent many hours socializing with him at the Timbers, the Finns, the Aura Jamboree, deer camps and while fishing on the lake.

Visitation will be on Wednesday, April 2nd from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. at Zion Lutheran Church followed by a funeral service at noon with Pastor Bonnie Billock officiating. A luncheon will follow in the church hall. Burial will be in the Skanee Cemetery. Jacobson Funeral Home is assisting the family.
