Cynthia Marie Reed

Cynthia "Cindy" Marie Reed, age 70, of L'Anse, Michigan, passed away peacefully at her home on Sunday, February 9, 2025.

Cindy was born on October 12, 1954, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, to John and Marian (Matt) Snyder. She graduated from Nicolet High School in 1972 and went on to serve as a dental assistant in the U.S. Army from 1974 to 1976. After her service, she moved to L'Anse, where she married Robert Reed. They shared over 20 years together.

She worked as a dental hygienist for Dr. Miller in L'Anse. In 1980, Cindy began working at the Canteen as a cook, bartender, and manager, a role she held until 2009. Later, she worked at the Holiday gas station in L'Anse, where she was a familiar and friendly face to many.

Cindy was a former member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles and enjoyed spending time with friends and family. She loved playing cribbage, bowling, shooting pool, and tossing horseshoes.

She is survived by her daughters, Jennifer (Fred Cote) Reed of Zeba, MI, and Krystal (Todd) Heikkinen of Ishpeming, MI; her brothers, Phillip Snyder of Fox Lake, WI, and Robert Snyder of L'Anse; and her beloved grandchildren: Freddy, Jonathon, Cheyanne, Emma, Reid, Dale, Cleora, Nolan, and Alexcis.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Marian Snyder; her husband, Robert Reed; her son, Jamie Reed; sister, Annette Ahola; and her nephew Al Dantes.

The family will celebrate Cindy's life at a later date. Jacobson Funeral Home is assisting the family.
