Daniel Paul Cholette

Daniel Paul Cholette, age 68 of Aura, MI passed away on Saturday, November 9, 2013 at Marquette General Hospital.
Dan was born May 23, 1945 in Wyandotte, MI, son of the late Joseph and Elma (Stacks) Cholette. He graduated from Trenton High School in 1964; then attended Ferris State College. He then did an apprenticeship with Chrysler as journeyman as a tool maker. He owned and operated Dan's General Store in Aura from 1971-1984. On January 11, 1975 he married the former Cheryl Cramer in Baraga, MI. Dan worked at L'Anse Manufacturing Company for 17 years, then as a Black Jack Dealer at the Ojibwa Casino. He retired in 2006 from Johnson & Berry manufacturing
Dan was a member of Ducks Unlimited. He enjoyed hunting, tropical fish, and reading science fictions.
Surviving are his wife Cheryl in Aura; daughters, Jennifer (Elton) Powell of Ypsilanti, MI, Diane (Keith) Holven of Glendale, CA; grandson Daniel Powell; brothers, Thomas (Marie) Cholette of Chassell, Ronald Cholette of Aura, Randolph (Kami) Cholette of Skanee, Kenneth (Debbie) Cholette of Aura; sister, Cynthia (Jay) Steinert of Gibraltar, MI; double cousin, Gerald (Mary) Cholette of Aura; and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial gathering will be held on Wednesday, November 13th from 10-2:00 p.m. at the Aura Fire Hall. The Jacobson Funeral Home is assisting the family.
