Daniel L. Cote
February 3, 1929 — June 1, 2001
Daniel L. Cote, age 72, of Aura, passed away on Friday, June 1, 2001 at Marquette General Hospital.
He was born on February 3, 1929 in L'Anse, son of the late Arthur and Celia (Adams) Cote. Daniel graduated from L'Anse High School. He married the former Genevieve Sarazin on February 4, 1952 in L'Anse. Daniel lived in Detroit for 23 years, where he worked for Great Lakes Steel, retiring in 1975. Upon retirement he moved to Alston where he lived until 1990, when he moved to Aura. He enjoyed fishing and hunting. Daniel was a member of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles, Aerie #2387 in L'Anse.
He is survived by a son Daniel (Nancy) Cote, Jr. of Sheboygan, WI; two daughters Ann Marie (Jack) Jenko of Sheboygan, WI, Darlene (Roger) Juntunen of South Range; five sisters Betty Donahue, Ruth Niva, Aileen Moore, Dolores Sarazin, and Phyllis (Frank) Kovach all of lower Michigan; nine grandchildren Norman Joyal, Neil Juntunen, Scott Joyal, Michael Joyal, Stacy Joyal, Troy Juntunen, Jason Cote, Shawn Cote, and Robin Bollinger; 13 great grandchildren; dear friend Corby Laux of Alston, and many nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be on Wednesday at 1:00 p.m. at the Jacobson Funeral Home. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 6-8:00 p.m., and on Wednesday from 12-1:00 p.m. at the Jacobson Funeral. Fr. Greg Heikkala will officiate. Burial will be in the L'Anse Evergreen Cemetery. The Jacobson Funeral Home of L'Anse is in charge of arrangements.
