Daniel Herman Risku, age 70, of Watton, Michigan passed away on Tuesday, March 12th, 2024, at Baraga County Memorial Hospital in L'Anse, Michigan.
He was born May 11, 1953, in L'Anse, son of Isaac and Martha (Franti) Risku. In 1972, Daniel graduated from L'Anse High School. He was self-employed operating Risku Logging Products and GDE Logging, along with managing his farm.
Daniel was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church in Covington, MI. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, dancing, and playing wash-tub music with his brother Eddie, known as the Swamp Boys Music. Daniel loved entertaining his nieces and nephews and playing with the kids.
Surviving are his brothers, Wilbert (Marcy) Franti, Ronald (Diane) Risku, Gary Risku all of Watton; sister Shirley (dear friend Johnny Bennett) Younggren of Covington; numerous nieces and nephews; and Goddaughters, niece Stacy Risku Roe and great niece Megan Johnson.
Preceding him in death are his parents, Isaac and Martha; brother Edwin "Eddie" Risku; brother-in-law Robert Younggren; great nephew Kyle Takala; great niece Lacey Rajala; and his dog Pretty Girl.
Visitation will be on Friday, April 12th from 1-2:00 p.m. at Bethany Lutheran Church in Covington. His funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Richard Little officiating. The burial will be in the Covington Cemetery. A luncheon will follow in the church hall. The Jacobson Funeral Home is assisting the family.
