Dannie V Haanpaa

Dannie Victor Haanpaa, age 51 of L’Anse, MI passed away on Wednesday, December 14, 2016 at Baraga County Memorial Hospital.

Dannie was born July 22, 1965 in San Antonio, TX son of Dannie A. and Amelia “Molly” (Oyervides) Haanpaa. He grew up in L’Anse as graduated from L’Anse High School. Dannie loved working in the woods, and was a logger for several years. He also worked at Terex.

Dannie was well known for his guitar playing. He played in the Montage band. He had a love for music, guitar and the outdoors.

Surviving are his sons, Ryan Haanpaa of Menasha, WI, Dannie Haanpaa of Sheboygan, WI; brother Eric Haanpaa of L’Anse; sisters, Connie (Tom) LaForest of Brillion, WI, Martha Haanpaa of Herman; and 6 grandchildren.

Preceding him in death are his parents and brother Steven Haanpaa.

A graveside service will be held in the spring in the Herman Cemetery. Jacobson Funeral of L’Anse is assisting the family.
