David E. Karvonen

David E. Karvonen, age 64, of Pelkie passed away on Saturday, September 15, 2001 at Baraga County Memorial Hospital.
He was born April 23, 1937 in L'Anse, son of Edwin and Martha (Partanen) Karvonen. He graduated from Baraga High School in 1955. David married Susan Roberts on July 3, 1969 in L'Anse. He worked for Koski Welding for 44 years, retiring in 1999. His hobbies were fishing, golf, hunting, and CB radio.
David is survived by his wife Susan Karvonen of Pelkie; mother Martha Karvonen of L'Anse; sons, Michael K.(Arrietta) Karvonen of Pelkie, David A. (Berta) Karvonen of Ontonagon, Larry E. Karvonen of Pelkie; daughters, Debra L. (Jon) Kaster of Elo, Robin S. (Chuck) Foster of Marlette, MI; brothers, Wayne (Pat) Karvonen of Arnheim, Robert (Debbie) Karvonen of L'Anse, Mike (Ellen) Karvonen of Nisula; sister Carol (Ronald) Richards on Baraga; and nine grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his father Edwin Karvonen.
The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, September 19, at 11:00 a.m. at Jacobson Funeral Home. The visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Rev. Larry Saunders will officiate. Burial will be in the Pelkie Cemetery. The Jacobson Funeral Home of L'Anse is in charge of arrangements.
