Donald W. Derocher, age 74 of Skanee, MI crossed over to the next world on Monday, July 02, 2012 at Baraga County Memorial Hospital.

Don was born to Lawrence and Geraldine (Bohmier) Derocher on March 9, 1938 in L'Anse, MI. As a teen he moved to metro-Detroit area with his family. He graduated from Lincoln High School in Ferndale, Michigan. Shortly afterward he married Nancy (Beck) Derocher and began working in tool and die. He later owned a very successful tool and die business; and was an accomplished blues musician, having two CDs and many live performances to his credit.

Following his retirement and the loss of the love of his life, he returned home to the area and settled in Arvon. Don was preceded in death by Nancy; son Tony; brother Gerry; nephew Jeremy; and his parents and in-laws.

Don is survived by his son Ronald (Karen); daughter Terry Lerma; brother Leonard (Lynn); grandsons Zach and Gabriel; granddaughter Dana and great granddaughters Isis and Zyana; as well as many cousins and dear friends.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, July 6th at 1:00 p.m. at the Jacobson Funeral Home, visitation will be for one hour prior to the service. Rev. Judy Mattson will officiate. Interment will be next to his wife Nancy in Oakview Cemetery in Royal Oak, MI on Friday, July 13th at 10:00 a.m.
