Donald James Slavik, age 66 of Iron Mountain, Michigan passed away on Friday, December 6th, 2024 at his home.
He was born January 10th, 1958 in Berrian, MI son of Walter and Mable (Stevens) Slavik. Donald served in the U. S. Army. He worked as a mechanic and was a disabled veteran. While we have always known how smart Donny is, the Army at the mere age of 17 selected him for elite intelligence training at Fort Huachuca, Arizona. He then went on to use that intelligence training in Wiesbaden, Germany while protecting the boarder. Donny was a proud member of the Saginaw Chippewa Indian Tribe of Michigan.
Surviving are his son, Mike Slavik; siblings, Michael Slavik, Glenda Slavik, Karen Siminski, Julia Hay, Walter Slavik, Jr., Sandra Barron, Joni DelaCruz, Cynthia Cisneros; numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
Preceding him in death are his parents Walter and Mable; his son James Slavik; sister Connie Slavik Jackson, brother Richard Slavik.
A celebration of life gathering will take place on Tuesday, July 22nd from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Jacobson Funeral Home in L'Anse, MI. He will be buried next to his son James in the Herman Cemetery with military rites at the graveside at 1:00 p.m. Jacobson Funeral Home is assisting the family.
