Douglas Paul Welsh enjoyed making his presence known, he finished his earthly journey, entering his eternal resting place with ancestors, relatives, the day before we celebrate our Savior's birthday. He enjoyed all visits, and he would truly look forward to each outing, whether it would be to a garage sale, local sporting event, or even just to go "Bumming" and catch the sights of the area.
Any day you would stop by to see him, you could find Douglas enjoying some classic country, maybe even polka if you picked your day right, and talking to you during the commercials interrupting his favorite television classics. Douglas enjoyed each visit from all our family and friends, mentioning favorite memories from Tiger's games with his nieces and Rachel and Madison, going out for a cool soda with any friend, and discussing theology and sobriety. He would never tire of reminiscing of days he spent working on the carnival circuit, making new friends and making new relationships. To his very last days, Doug could explain how he spent his days setting up, maintaining, and operating the Ferris Wheel and merry-go-round. Listening, you could see his eyes shinning with happiness.
Preceding him in death are his parents, Herbert and Helene Welsh; brothers, Vine, Herbert, and James Welsh; sisters Catherine Welsh and Mary Wilson; uncles and aunts Henry and Lillian Fasthorse, Dr. Charles and Gene Picard, and Richard and Lorraine Francois, and Louis Picard; and cousins. Survivors include his son, Steven A. Clark of Marquette, MI; sisters, Margaret LaTocha of Eagle River, AK, Judith Smith of L'Anse, MI, and Aleta Jimmie of Anchorage, AK; godmother and aunt Fanchon Boyette of Milwaukee, WI; aunt Linda Picard of L'Anse, MI and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
