Edward Lee Bourdage, age 63 of L'Anse, MI passed away unexpectedly at his home on Tuesday, August 17, 2010.
He was born June 30, 1947 in Marquette, MI son of Leonard Bourdage and Viola (Heikkinen) Porter. Ed grew up in Skanee and attended the Skanee School and graduated from the L'Anse High School in 1966. He went to Barber School in Detroit and then came back to L'Anse where he owned Ed's Barber Shop and cut hair for 41 years.
Ed loved being a grandpa. He was an avid fisherman; enjoyed hunting, prospecting for copper, making wine, berry picking, woodworking, and bowling. Ed liked to hunt rabbits and was a former member of a Beagle Club in Lake Linden.
Surviving are his mother Viola Porter in Bayside Village in L'Anse; son Edward "Ed" Bourdage of L'Anse; daughter Melissa LaFernier of L'Anse; sisters Patricia "Patsy" Noble-McGonnell of Fort Pierce, FL and Bonnie (Ken) Huhtasaari of L'Anse; one granddaughter Carisa LaFernier; and Several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, August 24th at 7:00 pm at the Jacobson Funeral Home. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service. Rev. Judy Mattson will officiate. The Jacobson Funeral Home is assisting the family.
