Edwin Thomas Risku

Edwin “Eddie” Thomas Risku, age 62 of Watton, MI passed away on Sunday, March 12th, 2017 at Baraga County Memorial Hospital.
He was born September 12, 1954 in L’Anse, MI son of the late Isaac Hjalmer and Martha (Franti) Risku. Eddie graduated from L’Anse High School in 1973. He worked with Risku Brothers Forest Products from 1973-96, then GDE Logging from 1996-2006, and currently for Risku Farm. Eddie enjoyed playing his banjo with his brother Daniel, creating their own swamp music. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, and farming. Eddie and Daniel were inseparable including their dog, leaving Pretty Girl behind. Eddie was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church in Covington.
Surviving are his brothers, Wilbert (Marcy) Franti, Ronald (Diane), Gary, and Daniel Risku all of Watton; sister Shirley Younggren of Covington; numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death are his brother-in-law Robert Younggren and great nephew Kyle Takala.
Visitation will be on Friday, March 17th from 10-12 at Bethany Lutheran Church. His funeral service will be at 12 noon with Pastor Mike Carrier officiating. Pallbearers will be nephews and great nephews. Burial will be in the spring in the Covington Cemetery. The Jacobson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
