Elaine E. Weisinger, age 86 of Baraga passed away on Thursday, May 27, 2004 at Bayside Village in L'Anse.
She was born February 2, 1918 in Perronville, MI daughter of the late John and Emma (Dettman) Serrahn. Elaine grew up in the Western UP and graduated from Ontonagon High School in 1936. She married Lester Weisinger in 1939. She was a member of the Royal Neighbors. Elaine was an avid reader and enjoyed growing plants and flowers. She had a love for Nature.
Surviving Elaine are her two sons, Russ (Gail) Weisinger of Baraga and Leslie (Geri) Weisinger of West Bend, WI; brother Ted Serrahn of Ontonagon; sisters, June Weinandt of Wakefield, Clarice (Lyle) Shaffstall of Akron, OH, Betty Boettcher of Milwaukee; five grandchildren; six great grandchildren.
Preceding her in death are her husband Lester Weisinger; daughter Judith Weisinger; brothers Harold and Kenneth Serrahn; sisters Gertrude Grube and Ruth Anderson.
The funeral service will be held on Monday, May 31 at 7:00 PM at the Jacobson Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 5-7:00 PM at the funeral home. Pastor Judy Mattson will officiate. Luncheon and fellowship will follow the funeral service in The Sharing Room at the Jacobson Funeral Home. Internment will be held on Tuesday, June 1, 10:00 AM at the Riverside Cemetery in Ontonagon.
The family suggests that memorials be made to Bayside Village Outdoor Pavilion Fund.
