Elizabeth Marcotte
November 5, 1910 — July 22, 2002
Elizabeth G. Marcotte age 91 of Skanee passed away on Monday, July 22, 2002 at Shulstad's Leisure Living in Baraga.
She was born November 5, 1910 in L'Anse, daughter to the late George and Mathilda E. (Swenson) Edwardsen. Mrs. Marcotte graduated from L'Anse High School in 1928. She married Francis "Nig" Marcotte in 1942. They lived in Chicago where she worked as an administrative assistant at Kraft. The moved to Skanee in the 1970's. She worked at the US Post Office in Skanee.
Mrs. Marcotte loved singing, gardening, playing scrabble and cribbage, and socializing.
She is survived by two grandchildren, Rod (Vicky) Mangrum of Chicago, Cynthia Mangrum of Cincinnati, OH; three great grandchildren; one great great granddaughter; several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Marcotte is preceded in death by her husband Francis "Nig"; daughter Judith Mangrum; bother Morgan Edwardsen; sisters Elenora Dahlberg and Eva Edwardsen.
Her funeral service will be held on Thursday, July 25 at 11:00 a.m. at Zion Lutheran Church in Skanee. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Pastor Judy Mattson will officiate. Burial will be in the Skanee Cemetery. The Jacobson Funeral Home of L'Anse is assisting the family.
