Elizabeth Anne Pyle, 85, of L'Anse, formerly of Elkhart, Indiana, passed away Sunday, December 3, 2006, at home, with her daughters by her side.
She was born October 30, 1921, in Elkhart, Indiana, the only child of Dewey and Phyllis (Middleton) Ropp. Elizabeth's parents died while she was a young child and she was raised by her grandparents, Bessie Louamy and Wilfred Middleton.
She married Robert Edward Pyle on August 29, 1945 in South Bend, Indiana and he preceded her in death on March 12, 2005.
Elizabeth had been a resident of L'Anse since April of this year. She enjoyed knitting, sewing and reading.
She is survived by 2 daughters, Barbara Minor of L'Anse and Laurie (Michael) Cass of Belleview, MI; a son, James Lee (Judy) Pyle of Kalamazoo; 11 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren; and special friend, Amy Shook of L'Anse. Besides her parents and husband, Elizabeth was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Kim James.
There will be no services at this time. A graveside service will be held in the summer of 2007 in the Rice Cemetery in Elkhart, Indiana.
