Elsie Victoria Soli

Elsie Victoria Johnson (Krokocki) Soli, age 97 of Baraga, MI, passed away on Saturday, December 11, 2010 at her daughter's home.

She was born on March 17, 1913 in Baraga, MI daughter to the late Victor and Mary (Osterlund) Johnson. Elsie graduated from Baraga High School. She moved to Chicago, IL where she worked for the Atlas Collapsible Tube Co; then married Jerome Krokocki and moved back to Baraga. Elsie worked as a cook at Baraga Schools, retiring at age 64. She later married Robert Soli, he preceded her in death.

She enjoyed reading and doing puzzles.

Surviving are her daughters Mary (Ron) Williams of Baraga, Joyce (Robert) Standlee of Lawton Oklahoma; sister Elvera "Viv" Barda of Baraga; four grandchildren. Steven Williams, Paige Williams, Victoria Standlee, and Jesse Standlee; and a niece Cindy Johnson.

Preceding her in death are her parents; her husbands Jerome and Robert; brothers Arvid and Rudolph Johnson; sisters Irene Pederson, Zenia Johnson, and Marie Effers.

A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, December 14th at 1:00 p.m. at Jacobson Funeral Home in L'Anse. Visitation will be held for one hour prior to the service, Rev. Judy Mattson will officiate. Burial will be in the spring in the Baraga Cemetery. The Jacobson Funeral Home is assisting the family.
