Elvie E. Longrie, age 69 of life long resident of Sidnaw passed away on Thursday, June 26, 2008 at Bayside Village in L'Anse.

Elvie was born August 7, 1938 in Negaunee, Michigan daughter of Theodore and Siami (Heikkinen) Rolloff. She graduated from Ewen High School in 1955 and then married Charles Joseph Longrie Jr. on August 27, 1955 in Kenton. Elvie enjoyed making crafts, dolls, crocheting, knitting, and bead work. She was a member of the VFW Auxiliary for Post 8945 in Covington.

Surviving are her son James Longrie of Sidnaw; daughter Lois Longrie of Bruce Crossing; brother Richard (Leanne) Rolloff of Missouri; sister Mary Ann Leaf of L'Anse; 10 grandchildren, Scott, Jamey, Andrea, Kristi, Lindsey, Cheryl, Stacy, Renee, Brian, and Jessica; 14 great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and close friends.

Preceding her in death are her husband Charles; son Bryan Longrie; daughters Kathleen and Kimberly Longrie; brother William Rolloff; sister Bonnie Jean Norback; and grandson James Longrie Jr.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, June 30, at 11:00 AM at the Sidnaw United Methodist Church. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Rev. John Henry will officiate. Burial will be in the Sidnaw Cemetery. The Jacobson Funeral Home in L'Anse is assisting the family.
