Eugene Paul Sullivan

Eugene Paul Sullivan, age 61 of Covington, MI passed away on Sunday, June 14, 2020 at his home.

He was born November 27, 1958 son of Gerald and Kay (Salonen) Sullivan. Gene graduated from L'Anse High School in 1976. He worked as an over the road truck driver until July 1988, when he became paralyzed as a result of a motorcycle accident. He was very independent, self-sufficient and solely started his own business. Gene loved hunting, fishing, being in the woods, and his dogs. He was passionate about his truck driving and loved to share stories about his experiences. Gene had a rough exterior, but all who knew him, knew he had the biggest heart.

Surviving are his mother Kay Sikkila; brothers, Ron (Jennifer) Sullivan of FL, Bill (Kerri) Sikkila of L'Anse, JR (Jeanne) Sikkila of Watton; nieces Casey (Pete) Skoglund, Kristen (Noah) Beesley, Andrea Sikkila, Bobbie Sikkila, Shelby (Tyler) Fredricks, and nephew/God son Jace Sikkila.

Preceding him in death are his father Gerald Sullivan; step father Harold Sikkila; paternal grandparents Elsie and Tim Sullivan; maternal grandparents Ida and Ernest Salonen; and a niece Holly Sullivan.

Gene's family would like to thank the nurses from Baraga County Home Health for the amazing care they provided him as well as their friendship.

Per his request there will be no funeral service. The Jacobson Funeral Home is assisting the family.
