Eunice Caroline Tresidder, 83, a life-long resident of Baraga passed away on Friday, May 18, 2001, after a long illness. She has been a resident of the Skilled Nursing Unit at the Baraga County Memorial Hospital since May, 2000.

Eunice was born on July 1, 1917 in Baraga to the late William and Tille Birk. She graduated from Baraga Area Schools. Eunice married the late Alfred J. Tresidder in 1948 and did clerical work for over 50 years for a home business - Tresidder's Manufacturers Agent, she also did volunteer work with Bay Ambulance in the 1970's. Eunice was a member of the L'Anse United Methodist church and was the organist for many years at the former Baraga Methodist church. She was a member of the Keweenaw Bay Indian Community and Ojibwa Senior Citizens.

Eunice is survived by two daughters and sons-in-laws - Floyd & Susie Crawford of Baraga and Richard & Debbie Gere of Franklin, Tennessee. She has four grandchildren and 1 great-grandson and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death was her husband, Alfred, two brothers (Leslie and Stanley Bink) and one sister (Katherine Shanahan).

At the request of the family, there will be no visitation. Private family graveside services will be held in the spring at the Baraga Cemetery. The family is being assisted by the Jacobson Funeral Home in L'Anse.
