Evelyn Ann Sikkila

Evelyn Ann Sikkila, age 52 of L'Anse, passed away on Tuesday, July 16, 2002 at Baraga County Memorial Hospital.
She was born May 29, 1950 in Wakefield, MI daughter to the late Hugo and Viola (Kujala) Sikkila. Evelyn grew up in Watton and moved to L'Anse in 1981. She attended the Copper Country Mental Health Program since the early 1980's. Evelyn received her GED in 1989 from Community School Adult Education in L'Anse.
Evelyn was a member of the United Lutheran Church and was active in her church and church circles. She enjoyed being with her family and friends, and the company of people.
She is survived by three brothers, Byron Sikkila of Newago, MI, Darryl Sikkila of San Diego, CA, Timothy (Rebecca) Sikkila of LaMesa, CA; six sisters, Wendy (Brent) Griffin of Marquette, MI, Jean (Bob) Anderson of L'Anse, Cheryl (Tom) Archambeau of L'Anse, Pamela Sikkila of Hancock, Holly (Tom) Hohman of Lansing, MI, Mary (Roy) Michell of Frederick, MD; aunt Betty Perkins of L'Anse; several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
The funeral service will be on Friday, July 19 at 11:00 a.m. at the United Lutheran Church in L'Anse. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Rev. Margaret Grant will officiate. Burial will be in the Covington Cemetery. The Jacobson Funeral Home of L'Anse is assisting the family.
