Frank J. Kruse

Frank J. Kruse, age 85 of L'Anse passed away on Thursday, November 20, 2003 at Baraga County Memorial Hospital.

He was born April 20, 1918 in L'Anse, son of the late Frank and Theresa (Ill) Kruse. Frank graduated from L'Anse High School in 1936. He was a veteran, having served in the U.S. Army during WWII. He married the former Signe Styrk in 1945. Frank was employed at Celotex for 24 years, retiring in 1983. He was a member of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church and the American Legion Post 144. Frank enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, and making wood.

Frank is survived by his wife Signe of L'Anse; son Thomas Kruse of Watton; daughters Lori (Rodney) Maki of Wetmore, MI, Anne (Larry) Dionne of Big Bay, MI; sister Hazel Schultz of Bayside in L'Anse; ten grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by three brothers Robert, Charles, and William Kruse; three sisters Marie Kruse, Alice Raymond, and Elsie Mae Kruse.

The funeral service will be held on Monday, Nov. 24 at 11:00 a.m. at Jacobson Funeral Home. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Fr. Greg Heikkala will officiate. Burial will be in the L'Anse Evergreen Cemetery. Luncheon and fellowship will follow in the Sharing Room at the funeral home. Jacobson Funeral Home is assisting the family.
