George Wuornos

George W. Wuornos, of Baraga passed away on Sunday, April 11, 2004 at Shulstad Leisure Living in Baraga, where he has been a resident since 2000.
He was born May 14, 1919 in Chassell, MI son of the late Charles and Amilia (Helberg) Wuornos. George graduated from Chassell High School. He served in the US Army during WWII. After the service, George moved to L'Anse and worked for the Soo Line Rail Road for 27 years, retiring in 1981. George belonged to the VFW post 3897. His enjoyment was taking rides in the car.
Many nieces and nephews survive George. His brothers, Rueben, Leo, and Edwin Wuornos, and his sisters, Lillian Wuornos, and Hilja and Esther Haurunen precede him in death.
At the request of George there will be no visitation or funeral service. The Jacobson Funeral Home in L'Anse is assisting the family.
