Gerald A. Morro, Sr

Gerald A. Morro, Sr., 56, of Chicago, Illinois, passed away, Thursday, August 3, 2006, at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago.
He was born June 21, 1950, in Chicago, IL, a son of Henry & Lucille (Loonsfoot) Morro and had been a lifelong Chicago resident.
Gerald worked for several years as a firefighter with the Chicago Fire Department. He was a veteran, having served in the US Marine Corps. Gerald was a member of the Keweenaw Bay Indian Community and enjoyed sports and golf as leisure activities.
He is survived by a son, Gerald A. Morro, Jr.; daughter, Stacey L.; loving lifelong partner, Vivian Distel; grandchild, Andrew; siblings, Carol, Herb, Bob, Rich, Daniel & Jackie; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother and a brother, Raymond Morro.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, August 10, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. in the Most Holy Name of Jesus Church at Assinins with Rev. Augustine George officiating. Visitation will be held at the church for one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in Assinins Cemetery.
