Geraldine Diane Van Haecke
March 6, 1942 — March 7, 2009
Geraldine Van Haecke, age 67, of L'Anse passed away on Saturday, March 7, 2009 at Bayside Village in L'Anse, MI.
She was born March 6, 1942 in Adams Twp., MI daughter of Uno and Martha (Holappa) Herrala. Geraldine grew up in Elo and graduated from John A. Doelle High School in Tapiola in 1960. She worked as a clerk at the L'Anse Motel for over 20 years.
Geraldine was a member of Jehovah's Witnesses Kingdom Hall. She loved spending time with her grandchildren.
She is survived by her two sons, Jesse (Margie Connor) Van Haecke of L'Anse, Camiel Van Haecke of Michigan; brother Harold (Gail) Herrala of Baraga; sister Carol Shannon of Baraga; 11 grandchildren; one great grandson; several nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death are her parents and her daughter Candace Collins.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 21sts at 2:00 pm at the Jehovah's Witnesses Kingdom Hall, 764 Michigan Ave, in Baraga. The Jacobson Funeral Home in L'Anse is assisting the family.
