Gertrude Kathryn "Kay" Kujansuu, 87, of Baraga, died Thursday, evening, November 18, 2004 at Baraga County Memorial Hospital.
Kay was born November 25, 1916, in Finland, a daughter of the late John and Anna Erickson. Kay's family immigrated to the United States when she was a child and settled in Hurontown, Michigan. She was a graduate of Houghton High School.
On March 1, 1941 she married Arthur M. Kujansuu and he preceded her in death on January 17, 2000.
Kay was a member of Mission United Lutheran Church. She enjoyed cooking, baking and gardening.
She is survived by a son, Arthur J. (Helen) Kujansuu of Baraga; grandchildren, Stephen (Jan) Kujansuu of Mason, MI and Michael (Emily) Kujansuu of Holt, MI; great-granddaughter, Kayla Kujansuu of Mason; sister, Tyne Koistila of Hurontown; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Monday from 10 to 11 a.m. in the Mission United Lutheran Church in Pelkie, MI. A funeral service will take place at 11 a.m. in the church with Rev. Tom Wickstrom officiating. Interment will be in the Pelkie Cemetery.
