Gladys C. Telschow age 94 of Skanee passed away on Wednesday, January 15, 2003 at Baraga County Memorial Hospital skilled nursing unit.

She was born August 14, 1908 in Spencer, WI daughter of the late Grant and Ella (Stoltenow) Heath. Gladys married Edward Telschow on June 20, 1934 in Spencer, WI. She was a Registered Nurse and worked under Dr. Winkler at Baraga County Memorial Hospital in L'Anse, MI, where she was also the Head of OB, Director of Nursing, and Hospital Administrator.

Gladys was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church in Skanee, WELCA, the church choir, and the quilting group. She enjoyed playing cards at Skanee Hall, and being part of the Happy 12 group.

She is survived by her children, Jon (Gladys A.) Telschow of Ukiah, CA, Frances (Tom) Semmens of Engadine, MI; four grandchildren, Chari (Bill) Schilling, Jeff Semmens, Scott Telschow, and Pamela Telschow; three great grandchildren, Jason Schilling, Carrie Ann and Douglas Semmens.

Gladys is preceded in death by her husband Edward on April 21, 1965; sister Frances Sullivan; brother Edwin Heath, and brother Alfred Heath who died on the Arizona at Pearl Harbor.

Due to relatives being located around the country, the family wishes to have a grave side funeral service in the spring at the Skanee Cemetery on Memorial Day Weekend, for which the exact date and time will be announced at a later time.

Memorial gifts may be sent to the Zion Lutheran Church of Skanee, MI. The Jacobson Funeral Home of L'Anse is assisting the family.
