Helen Deter

Helen A. Deter, age 78 of L'Anse passed away on Saturday, January 24, 2004 at her home.
She was born March 22, 1925 in Ishpeming, MI daughter of the late Olli and Sanni (Syrjala) Leek. Helen grew up in Watton. She married Bruce Deter on October 29, 1966 at the former St. John's Church in L'Anse. Helen enjoyed painting, reading, embroidering, and taking pictures.
She is survived by her son James (Charito) Pletcher of Buchanan, MI; daughters, Cheryl (Robert) Davis of Sidnaw, Cynthia (Raymond) Maki of Watton; step-son Clarence "Cliff" Pletcher of San Francisco, CA; sister Laila Barber of Marquette; many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Her husband Bruce Deter precedes Helen in death.
A Memorial Service will be held at a later date. Burial will be in the L'Anse Evergreen Cemetery. The Jacobson Funeral Home in L'Anse is assisting the family.
