Ilmi Helen Niemi

Ilmi Helen Niemi, 86, of Baraga, died Friday evening, November 25, 2005 at Bayside Village in L'Anse.
She was born March 6, 1919, in Covington, Michigan, a daughter of the late Oscar and Hilda (Keskinen) Hakala. On February 18, 1940 she married Theodore Niemi in Trout Creek, MI and he preceded her in death in 1961.
Ilmi was a member of the Baraga County Eagles Auxiliary, Bethany Lutheran Church in Covington and a lifetime member of the Covington VFW Auxiliary. She enjoyed crafts, reading, puzzles, loved going to Saturday night dances and enjoyed people.
She is survived by a daughter, Sandra Procopio of Milwaukee, WI; a son, Edward (Linda) Niemi of Saginaw, MI; and two grandchildren, Edward Niemi and fiancAC., Allison Danielle Adams of Saginaw, MI and Lynn Marie Deurloo of San Francisco, CA. Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by three brothers.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, November 29, 2005 at 11 a.m. in the Jacobson Funeral Home with Pastor Judy Mattson officiating. Visitation will be held in the funeral home for one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in the Covington Cemetery.
