Jack R. Peterson
November 15, 1920 — August 10, 2003
Jack R. Peterson, age 82 of L'Anse, formerly of Nunica, MI, passed away on Sunday, August 10, 2003 at Baraga County Memorial Hospital.
He was born on November 15, 1920 in Nunica, son of the late John and Susan (Easterly) Peterson. Jack was in the US Navy and was a member of the American Legion Post144. He owned Swedes Bar downtown L'Anse for more than 25 years.
Jack is survived by his brothers, Ward (Marion) Peterson of Pennsylvania, Donald (Cora) Peterson of Coopersville, and 10 nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a sister Doris Cox.
The funeral service will be held on Thursday, at 1:00 P.M. at St. Luke's Lutheran Church in Nunica. Rev. Joel Hoyer will officiate. Burial will be in the Nunica Cemetery. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 7-9 P.M. at the Throop Funeral Home in Coopersville, MI. Memorial contributions may be sent to St. Luke's Lutheran Church, 11261 South St., Nunica, MI 49448.
