James Russell Davis, age 62 of Baraga died suddenly on Saturday, October 5, 2002 at Baraga County Memorial Hospital.
He was born October 18, 1939 in Lansing, Michigan son of the late Hallie and Mildred (Dalrymple) Davis. He grew up in Potterville, MI, where he graduated from high school. Jim worked for Diamond Reo in Lansing for 17 years. He then owned and operated Village Brokers real estate company in Dimondale, MI for several years. He moved to Baraga in 1989 where he enjoyed his retirement years. Jim married the former Diana Boerema on November 17, 2000 in Baraga.
Jim enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, and the outdoors. He will miss his special pal "Velvet".
He is survived by his wife Diana of Baraga; three sons, Ronald Davis of Eaton Rapids, MI, Daniel (Janean) Davis of Holt, MI, James Davis of Baraga; four daughters, Denise Wier of Holt, MI, Roxanne (Jim) Pathfinder of Holt, MI, Tracy Davis of Onemia, MN, Amy Davis of Baraga; one brother Donald (Darlene) Davis of Potterville, MI; Aunt Minnie (Jack) Tysman of Lansing, MI; and eight grandchildren.
The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 8, at 5:30 p.m. at the Jacobson Funeral Home. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Rev. David Snyder will officiate.
