Janet Anne (Peterson) Tolonen

July 17, 1944 — August 23, 2020

Janet Anne Tolonen, age 76 of Pelkie, MI passed away on Sunday, August 23, 2020 at her home.

She was born July 17, 1944 in L'Anse, MI daughter of James and Anna (Seppanen) Peterson. Janet graduated from Baraga High School in 1962 and married Robert "Bob" Tolonen Sr. on September 22, 1962.

She was a member of Mission United Lutheran Church. Janet enjoyed dancing, and used to do knitting and cake decorating.. She loved spending time with her family.

Surviving are her son Robert "Bob" Tolonen Jr. of Alston; daughter Lisa (Mark) Thompson of Norton Shores, MI; brother Clyde Peterson of Pelkie; grandchildren Jonathon and Greggory Tolonen, Ashley (Jake) DeRyke, and Brandon Thompson.

Preceding her in death are her parents and husband Robert Tolonen.

Visitation will be on Thursday, August 27th from 10-11 a.m. at the Nisula Cemetery. Her funeral service will be at 11 a.m. at the Nisula cemetery with Rev. Kelly Ylitalo will officiate. The Jacobson Funeral Home is assisting the family.
