JoAnn Marie (Cavanaugh) Hilsendager

JoAnn Marie (Cavanaugh) Hilsendager, age 59 of L'Anse, MI passed away on Monday, August 26, 2019 as a result of an automobile accident.

She was born November 1, 1959 in L'Anse, MI daughter of Bernard and Arlene (Jukkala) Cavanaugh. JoAnn graduated from L'Anse High School in 1977. She married Leo Hilsendager on January 9, 1983 in Lake Tahoe, CA. The resided in Aurora, CO for many years, returning to L'Anse in 2011. JoAnn worked as a support manager at Walmart in Houghton.

JoAnn loved her grandchildren and will be greatly missed by her family.

Surviving are her husband Leo of L'Anse; son Jeremy (Megan) Hilsendager of Denver CO; daughter Melissa Hilsendager of L'Anse; mother Arlene Cress of L'Anse; brother Charles (Andrea) Cavanaugh of L'Anse; sisters, Lisa Collins of L'Anse, Lori Snow of Cape Coral FL; grandchildren, Lucas, Maddie, Abigail, Elijah Hilsendager; and nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, September 1st at the VFW in L'Anse from 2-4:00 p.m.. The Jacobson Funeral Home is assisting the family.
