John Charles Snyder

John “Jack” Charles Snyder, age 85 of L’Anse passed away on Saturday, March 5, 2016 at Bayside Village in L’Anse. He was born December 20, 1930 in L’Anse, MI son of Cecil and Irene (Leonard) Snyder. Jack married the former Marian Matt in 1950 in L’Anse. He worked for Celotex, then hauled for Pettibone and RD Kent Trucking. After he retired he delivered meals for Baraga County Senior Meals until 2005. Jack was a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus church and Eagles Aerie #2287. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and was an avid Green Bay Packers fan. Surviving are his sons, Phillip Snyder of Fox Lake, WI, Robert (Elizabeth) Snyder of L’Anse; daughter Cindy Reed of L’Anse; 11 grandchildren; and 22 great grandchildren. Preceding him in death are his parents; wife Marian; daughter, Annette Ahola; brothers, Dale and Mark Snyder; and sister Elizabeth Pullen. There will be no visitation. A graveside service will be held in the spring the in the L’Anse Evergreen Cemetery. The Jacobson Funeral Home is assisting the family.
