Joyce Ann Menghini

Joyce A. Menghini, age 71 of L'Anse, MI passed away on Friday, June 6, 2014 at Baraga County Memorial Hospital.
She was born May 8, 1943 in Stambaugh, MI daughter of Peter and Ann (Pasquali) Basolo. Joyce received her GED from Baraga High School. She married William Patrick Menghini and they resided in Baraga where she worked for U.P. Plastic for 4 years and then for Pettibone for 26 years, retiring in 2005.
Joyce was a member of Most Holy Name of Jesus Church in Assinins, MI. In her younger years she was involved with 4-H. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, gardening, loved animals, enjoyed her grandchildren and visiting with neighbors and friends over coffee.
Surviving are her children, Dawn (Frank) Stasiak of Seattle, WA, Janet Merrill of Jackson, MI, Michael (Betty Korpi) Menghini of L'Anse, Jeani Menghini of Keweenaw Bay, MI, Barbara (Jerry) McEwen of L'Anse, Christopher (Samantha Schneider) Menghini of Keweenaw Bay, Kathleen Koski of Keweenaw Bay; grandchildren, Brian (Nichole) Merrill, Kelly Merrill, Tara Menghini, Sarah Merrill, Matthew Korpi, Hailey Stasiak, Jonny McEwen, Casey Chagnon, Andrea Chagnon, Bradley McEwen; many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Preceding her in death are her parents; husband William in 1992; brothers James Basolo and Peter Basolo Jr.; uncle Clarence "Tino" Basolo.
A memorial gathering and fellowship will take place on Friday, June 27th from 5-7:00 p.m. at the Keweenaw Bay Fire Hall. Burial will be in the Keweenaw Bay Cemetery. The Jacobson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
