Kenneth James Manz, age 78 of Crivitz, WI passed away on Tuesday, February 24, 2009 at Bay Area Medical Center in Marinette, WI.
He was born October 8, 1930 in Milwaukee, WI son of the late Adolph and Exilda (Belongia). Ken grew up in Milwaukee and went in to the US Air Force from 1951-55 during the Korean War. He married the former LaVerne Lepola on August 16, 1958. They resided in Milwaukee up until 1979 when they moved to Crivitz, WI. Ken worked for 30 years for American Motors in Milwaukee.
He enjoyed doing crossword puzzles and putzing in the garage.
Surviving are his loving wife of 50 years, LaVerne of Crivitz; two sons, Wayne (Sharon) Manz and Keith (Sally) Manz both of Milwaukee; brother, John (Lola) Manz of Oshkosh, WI; two sisters, Cecelia Lukitsch of Milwaukee, Shirley Ondrejicka of Pewaukee; 3 grandchildren, 5 step grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, 4 step great grandchildren.
Preceded him in death are a brother, Lester Manz; sisters Lillian Liebenstein, and Evelyn Swanson.
A funeral service will be held on Sunday, March 1st at 2:00 p.m. at the Jacobson Funeral Home in L'Anse. Visitation will be held from 12 noon until the time of the service. Rev. Mark Reinsch will officiate. A luncheon and fellowship will follow the service in the Sharing Room at Jacobson Funeral Home. Burial will be in the spring in the Covington Cemetery. The Jacobson Funeral Home in L'Anse is assisting the family.
